Of all the appetizers we make - THIS is the one our boys request the most.
In fact, it's been a couple of months since we have made these and they are STILL asking for them on nearly a weekly basis. (I really should remember to buy these the ingredients the next time we go to the store.....).
This is another party favorite and is that great combination of easy AND delicious that I just LOVE when it comes to party appetizers. Hope you enjoy!

Who's getting ready for some football???
It's that time of year for this group of Nebraska fans and we are ready to get things kicked off! The excitement of the new football season has us thinking about more than just bowl games and national championships (yes, Matt is the die-hard hopeful) - we are thinking all about tailgating (and OBVIOUSLY the FOOD!).
In fact, we spent a large part of this weekend coming up with some DELICIOUS Not Tom's tailgating recipes to share with you! So stay tuned for more. This is one of the first and Lisa swears, hands down, these are the BEST wings she's EVER tasted!
We hope you enjoy too!
Not Tom's wings are on the grill! Making them perfectly crispy and delicious!

Rinse and pat dry
Dust wings with 2 Tablespoons of Not Tom's All Purpose Seasoning.

1/2 cup butter

If you love pulled pork, you will go nuts for this NOT TOM'S Pulled Pork recipe!
Lisa made this for her work crew a few days ago and their mouths were watering all day just from the smell of it! And yes...every single bite was claimed and no one went home hungry!
I guess you *could* say our dear Lisa can get a bit carried away....she just NEVER wants to leave anyone hungry! lol. (see above example of the 32 pounds of pork she had ready to stick in the oven!)
Without further ado - here is the recipe!
NOT TOM'S Pulled Pork
Pork shoulder (average size around 7 pounds)
1/2 cup Not Tom's All Purpose Seasoning
1/2 cup brown sugar
(mix these together to create a half and half mixture of NOT TOM'S and brown sugar)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup salt
1/3 cup of the Not Tom's and brown sugar mixture (from rub mixture)
8 cups water
2 bay leaves
Mix all brine ingredients together in a bowl and pour over pork shoulder into a large Ziploc bag. Seal bag and marinate in fridge for 12-24 hours.
Once marinating is complete, remove pork and pat dry. Liberally coat pork with the NOT TOM'S and brown sugar mixture, massaging well into pork shoulder.
Cook in oven at 225 degrees until meat thermometer reads 200 degrees. **Note - pulled pork takes 1.5-2 hours per pound to cook.
Once the meat temperature reaches 200 degrees you can cover the pan with foil. Turn off oven and let pork rest for a couple of hours (until it reaches 170 degrees).
After the meat has cooled to 170 degrees you can pull out of the oven. Remove the fat cap and shred pork using two forks.
Bacon. Need I say more?
Not just ANY bacon....but seriously the BEST BACON EVER.
I'm not even joking here. Two plates of this were polished off in a matter of minutes. Even our boys proclaimed this was "The BEST BACON EVER"....so it must be true.
If you've never tried seasoning your bacon, you've been missing out. And I will say "You're welcome" in advance...because I know you are going to thank me.
So here goes:
NOT TOM'S Best Bacon Ever
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp Not Tom's All Purpose Seasoning
Thick cut bacon
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Mix NOT TOM'S and brown sugar together and pat to coat onto both sides of bacon.
Placed coated bacon slices on a roasting rack on a foil lined pan.
Bake for 15 mins and then flip and bake another 15-20 mins (to desired crispiness). Checking bacon frequently to avoid burning.
If you love some good home cooking you have GOT to try this mouthwatering recipe for your next biscuits and gravy! Seriously..the boys could NOT get enough. Just enough spice to give it that extra savory flavor - you definitely want to make a whole batch (and some extra biscuits), because this will be gone in a flash!
NOT TOM'S Sausage Gravy
1 lb ground breakfast sausage
1 lb ground spicy sausage
1-2 Tbsp Not Tom's All-Purpose Seasoning (to desired flavor)
1/2 cup flour
5 cups whole milk
Salt to desired taste
Brown sausage over medium heat. Add NOT TOM’S, and 1/2 cup flour and stir in. Allow to cook for 1-2 mins, stirring frequently. Add milk slowly, one cup at a time, while stirring continuously to create your gravy (the gravy will continue to thicken as it cooks). Continue to cook on medium heat while stirring periodically as the sauce cooks. Add salt to desired taste.
Reduce heat to low and allow to simmer, stirring occasionally until gravy is to desired consistency.
Serve with biscuits and enjoy!
Sometimes there is just NOTHING better than some good comfort food and that was the case this weekend. I was craving some chili - yes even WITH the 100 degree weather we were having here in Phoenix! Despite the heat I wanted some heat....in the form of some delicious, home cooked chili!
I scrounged thru the cabinet and fridge and totally lucked out that I had everything I needed to make a giant, delicious, mouth-watering pot of it!
I could literally eat half the pot of this in one sitting, it is sooooo good! Simple to make (just over 30 minutes) and sure to have all of your chili-lovers asking for a second helping!
Heat the oil over high heat in a large heavy pot and sautée diced onions, bell pepper and garlic until golden brown (about 5 minutes).
Once lightly browned, add ground turkey and cook over medium heat until browned (around 5-10 minutes).
Liquefy 1 can diced fire roasted tomatoes in blender and add to pot, along with 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes, broth and all three cans of beans (after draining and rinsing). Mix in 3 Tbsp NOT TOM's. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to a simmer, stirring occasionally for about 15 minutes.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Serve in bowls and garnish with shredded cheddar cheese, diced green onions, sour cream and lime wedges, if desired. Enjoy!
OK, if you are a pickle lover THIS is your kind of salad! This recipe is the perfect pickley snack salad! Great for summer, BBQ's and a crunchy fresh snack - NOT TOM'S Cucumber Salad will quench your pickle and spice cravings!
Mix vinegars, sugar, salt and Not Tom's in saucepan and heat on medium-low, stirring until sugar and salt are dissolved. Remove from heat. Add water slowly and taste mixture to desired flavor.
Let mixture cool and then pour over 3 sliced English cucumbers. Optional to add thinly sliced red onions.
Chill at least 1 hour and enjoy!
This is the recipe that started it all.
A few months after the divorce was final, he asked for this recipe too. This request was one too many. After the heartache, the one thing she could hold onto was the recipes!
It was shortly after this request that we were gathered 'round her table enjoying friendship, laughter and dang good food, when Lisa shared with us this little tale.
In a moment of laughter, the idea was born. She should share the recipe, not only with him, but with the rest of the world as it's own unique brand of NOT TOM'S!
This became the new beginning. The silver lining after a period of strife. A chance to begin again with friendship and with fun!
So it began and the next chapter of life was born. A chapter where we shared meals, ideas, laughter and new hope!
So without further ado...we share with you NOT TOM'S Mop Sauce. The recipe that started it all. :)
-Lisa, Jill and Matt
NOT TOM'S Mop Sauce
2 cups apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons Kosher Salt
2.5 tablespoons Not Tom's All-Purpose Seasoning
Whisk ingredients together and enjoy! We recommend trying it on chicken or pulled pork!
Sure to make everyone's mouth water and have them asking "How'd you make this?!?!"
Just be sure you tell them, the recipe is NOT TOM'S!
